Osteas Academy

Programmes and courses for physiotherapists and healthcare professionals.

Osteas Academy is the educational branch of the OSTEAS association (Osteopathic-Therapeutic Association of Serbia), founded in 2013. The association brings together higher-education, professional and graduate physiotherapists and osteopaths, and is led by Jovan Rogić, founder of the REHABILITY Clinic.

The academy’s mission is ongoing professional development through seminars, workshops and certified courses in manual therapy, osteopathy, kinesitherapy, medical acupuncture and fascial techniques. We collaborate with universities and recognised experts from Serbia and abroad, and our training is intended for physiotherapists, doctors and physiatrists.

From 2013 to today

  • The first organised osteopathy training in Serbia, on 17 May 2013
  • By 2015, 6 modules (144 hours) completed: structural, cranial and visceral osteopathy with clinical practice
  • Eight colleagues earned a postgraduate certificate in osteopathic manipulation
  • 2016: collaboration with Prof. Fabio Perissinotti (SwissAdvance, Switzerland)
  • 2017: the International Osteopathic Academy was launched, awarding an international D.O. diploma

Osteopathy · international diploma

International Osteopathic Academy (D.O.)

A multi-year programme covering structural, cranial and visceral osteopathy with extensive clinical practice. Participants earn the internationally recognised D.O. (Diploma in Osteopathy) title. The first academy of its kind in Serbia, launched in 2017 in collaboration with international lecturers.

Manual therapy · Spain

Spinal manipulation: INSTEMA (Spain)

An intensive course in high-velocity spinal manipulation (HVLA) following the methodology of the Spanish institute INSTEMA. The lecturer is Juan Jose Bosca, director of INSTEMA. Participants learn safe and precise manipulation of the spine and peripheral joints.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy: a comprehensive programme

A systematic programme of manual techniques: assessment, mobilisation and manipulation of the spine and peripheral joints, soft-tissue techniques and neurodynamics. Intended for physiotherapists seeking a complete manual approach to the patient.

Pain therapy

Modern medical acupuncture

A Western, medical model of acupuncture grounded in neurophysiology. The use of fine needles in treating acute and chronic pain, myofascial trigger points and musculoskeletal complaints, as a complement to physical therapy.

Neuromuscular techniques

P-DTR® (Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex)

A functional neurological approach that uses proprioceptive reflexes to detect and correct dysfunctions in the processing of sensory information. Effective for pain, muscle weakness and restricted mobility with no obvious structural lesion.

Fascial techniques

FDM (Fascial Distortion Model)

Dr Stephen Typaldos's model, which interprets pain and dysfunction through six types of fascial distortion. Based on the patient's description and the way they point to their pain, the therapist selects precise manual techniques to relieve the complaint quickly.

Soft tissues

ERGON® IASTM technique

Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation (IASTM) using special steel tools. It treats scar tissue, fascial adhesions and chronic tendinopathies, and speeds up recovery from sports injuries.

Diagnostics

Musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostics

A practical course in ultrasound diagnostics of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Physiotherapists and doctors learn to recognise injuries and monitor recovery in real time, with hands-on practice on models.

Osteopathy

Barral: visceral manipulation

A manual approach to the internal organs following Jean-Pierre Barral. Gentle techniques restore the mobility of the organs and the surrounding fascia, with an effect on chronic complaints, breathing and posture.

Sports rehabilitation

Kinetic Flossing®

A technique of compressive wrapping with an elastic band (flossing) to improve joint mobility, circulation and faster recovery. Widely used in sports rehabilitation and athlete preparation.

Taping

SportTape: functional and kinesio taping

Kinesio and rigid taping techniques to support, offload and correct muscles and joints. Used for injuries and swelling and in prevention, with hands-on application by body region.

Soft tissues

MFD Cupping: cupping therapy

Myofascial decompression therapy with vacuum cups that lift the tissue and release fascial adhesions. It improves circulation and reduces tension and pain in the muscles and connective tissue.

Neuro-frequency techniques

ANF therapy

Amino Neuro Frequency: applying discs carrying frequencies to the skin to reduce inflammation and pain and encourage regeneration. A non-invasive complement to manual and physical therapy.

Massage

Osteo Thai massage on the table

A blend of Thai stretching techniques and an osteopathic approach, performed on the table. It releases tension, improves mobility and deeply relaxes the musculo-fascial system.

Soft techniques

EMMETT technique

A gentle neuromuscular technique of light touches at specific points on the body that quickly releases tension and pain and restores range of motion. Pleasant for the patient and easily combined with other therapies.
